Great old school Leo movie. Tells the story of NY gangs of the Irish vs Americans way before the Italian mob

Took forever for anything to happen. Also, violence was a bit for the sake of it rather than being a dramatic device.

Set during the Civil War, this movie does an excellent job of capturing the animosity that immigrants faced even in the north. It has fantastic actors who play their parts exceptionally.
