Gangs of New York

Took forever for anything to happen. Also, violence was a bit for the sake of it rather than being a dramatic device.

A cool look at what New York gangs may have been like in the 1800’s.

Great old school Leo movie. Tells the story of NY gangs of the Irish vs Americans way before the Italian mob

imo not a mafia movie but still great stuff from scorsese.

I had seen this particular film years ago and was thrilled.
Watching it now, I will only focus on Daniel Day-Lewis' amazing performance, which I believe was what made the film great.
In the role of Leonardo DiCaprio, I would have liked someone with wilder features, and as for Cameron Diaz, I think that any beautiful actress of her generation could have played her role better.
In general, I was a little bored and I was even tired of its length, so 9/10 vbecause of the titanic Daniel Day-Lewis....

Was expecting more from this. But a rather depressing story was mainly carried by Daniel day Lewis entirely. Cameron Diaz was also not bad
