The Union

While some of the third act action choreography improved the overall experience, this film is pretty unsalvageable. I’m convinced this was pitched as a live action Bob the Builder and it transformed into the film it is today.

Fast-paced nonsensical action put into overdrive. Couldn't feel the chemistry between Halle and Mark but the dialogue was embarrassingly good. "It's not about the car, it's about the driver." The story and production felt claustrophobic and trapping even though they went all over, even through an 'Annie' musical play. A great, quick, high-risk flick, that takes itself a little too seriously at times. Also, the ruthlessness blew me at times. I lowkey want more...of Halle Berry annihilating anyone and everyone.

Overall, it was a good action comedy. I loved the fact that Mark Wahlberg, after a training montage, didn’t become a superhero and a superstar, he remains just a regular guy who got a special force training. Otherwise, the plot is really simple, the character development is nothing special, but its a nice watch, if you just want to relax.

The Union attempts to blend action and comedy but falls short. Despite the star power of the actors, the film's predictable plot and lackluster action sequences left me disengaged. I found it reminiscent of better spy thrillers, making it hard to appreciate on its own merits.
