The scariest movie I have seen in a long time. Beautifully made and paced perfectly.

Had amazing potential, but damned by its pacing. The mismatch of acting and atmosphere can ruin the majority of what a movie tries to achieve. Fortunately, the casting/acting and real-life locations spark a flame to reality. I felt the cold air breeze through my TV, with hunger eating me away. The isolation was deafening, I could not even think. Realism took over and I wanted to hide away from the score and familiar hauntings. Unfortunately, realism also dragged the pace behind and chopped it up. I was bored after the first 30 or so minutes, and the ending didn't make up for it. Although the overall message was a 'gut-spilling' type of beautiful. If you want psychological realism, here it is.

2025 Horror Movie #2

This was a damn good movie! The longer drawn out scenes depicting the wintry weather and the music as well as the acting really captured the dreadful moments. The story was well written and at the peak moments really turned up the intensity without ever going overboard. It definitely will play with your mind and leave you with a sense of sorrow with the way it plays out.

This was the second horror movie on my 2025 watchlist and totally made up for the dud I watched first. Although just the second on the list and so early in the year… this one might be hard to top!
