Heartbreaking story brought incredibly by a director from my very own country (Belgium) that's something that can only make me proud. Small Things Like These ends where most films would normally start, and illustrates the soul crushing power of the church in Ireland at its time.

7/10 shines light on subject matter and the treatment. Was surprised to see this was happening upto 1998? (Started in the 1920s)…. Worth a watch.

A phenomenal film that shines light on the horrific history of the Catholic Church in Ireland.

My eyes were absolutely glued to the screen from beginning to end while watching this film.

The amount of scenes with zero dialogue that have so much atmosphere & emotion is superb.

There is a quiet anger simmering under the surface of this film that is masterfully controlled by Murphy and Watson. An oppressing atmosphere permeates each scene with dread that will make this a challenging watch for some.
