Nickel Boys

I think this movie was so cinematic and i loved how it was filmed never really seen anything like it. The story is so heartbreaking and eye opening i really enjoyed this film

It’s a little hard to follow and my friend had to explain the ending to me, but the story never stopped feeling important and true. The cinematography was also beautiful. Definitely adding the book to my list

The Nickel Boys follows two Black boys trapped in a brutal reform school in Jim Crow-era Florida, where they endure unspeakable cruelty and cling to hope for survival. Shot from a first-person POV, the film’s perspective makes its harrowing true story feel even more immersive and inescapable. The weight of its subject matter is heightened by stellar performances from both lead actors, while the cinematography and symbolism add even more layers to unpack. A beautifully made but devastating film. 8/10
