Monkey Man

Got to see the world premiere at SXSW and my now the future looks brighter than ever for cultural storytellers. Hats off to Dev Patel for pulling off the seemingly impossible and looking devilishly handsome doing it.

First off, I’m very impressed with the fact that Dev Patel co-wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the leading role of this film. I really enjoyed the brutal action scenes and the visceral cinematography, even though it was a little nauseating and hard to see at times

Monkey Man was insane, adrenaline packed, and beautifully gritty! Give Dev Patel his flowers !!! Some of the shots, OMG

Incredible visuals and music – Dev’s debut movie is nothing short of awesome. Plot is predictable with the John Wick troupe, and character development feels 1 dimensional, but hey it’s pretty great.

A little disappointed in the ending

Yes! A character driven, culturally rich genre bending film! Inspiring for the next gen of global majority writers and storytellers
