I was surprised how much I really liked this film. Scorsese absolutely cooked directing this and the story was such a crazy and wild ride that kept me engaged the entire time. Griffin Dunne was fantastic and really sold how a normal guy would react in a situation like this

such a strange scorsese project, by far one of his most stylistically unique and utterly brilliant films. a constant thrill-ride from the literal thrill-ride onwards with amazing performances and immensely powerful cinematography. infinitely enjoyable

Why did I think this was a fun comedy? It’s surreal and sure it has some comedy, but man it made me really uncomfortable at many parts. Confusing Kafka-esque hellscape in which the character must fight through to be reborn. It’s interesting but yeah watch some analyses of it afterwards.

My guy just wanted a fun night. 😭
