IM SO PISSED OFF AT HOW THEY HANDLED HER CASE BRO. WHO TALKS TO A VICTIM LIKE THAT??? this series took all my emotions.

An emotional rollercoaster, this film captures the discomfort, anger, repulsion, frustration of an event that makes it all the more unbelievable in its truth. Dever, Wever, and Collette give powerful , multidimensional performances that have you begging for more.

I could listen to Merritt Wever’s soft voice all day long. A heartbreaking story that was amazingly acted by all 3 female leads.

8.4 - Incredible (though uncomfortable) story told with a ton of care.

Kaitlyn Dever continues to stand out in every project she’s a part of. Toni Collette’s gruff but driven character keeps it rolling when it does start to lull a little in the middle episodes. And Merritt Wever’s caring & compassionate character not only is a perfect foil to Colette’s, but also was my most appreciated performance, really helping to ensure this story always stayed as human as it can.

They never victim blame or shame, they avoid highlighting the perpetrator, & they change all names in the careful thought of not fully reopening this story for anyone involved, which feels like absolutely the right thing to do.

Obviously, there’s some potentially highly triggering content here, but it wraps itself nicely & leaves you feeling just a little bit better that there are some people out there who care & will always fight the good fight.
