i thoroughly fucked up my sleep schedule bc jack and i binged this in 3 days… honestly appalling that this was based off of a true story but amanda seyfried’s acting was SUPERB. if you enjoyed inventing anna/the social network, you’d love this.

Amanda gave an exceptional performance and you almost feel sorry for the real character on whom she is based “Elizabeth Holmes”. ALMOST

This show does a great job of showing the deception and greed that was required to keep a disgusting company like Theranos running for so long

Watched the other doc, read bad blood and still couldn’t get enough of this and the Theranos story. Amanda seyfried was great.

8.3 - Fascinating story that I was completely tuned out of as a kid for most of its real life timespan. Great case study for all levels of ethics moving forward.

It’s wild watching this unfold with a level of omniscience, because if so many of Holmes & Balwani’s actions were so blatant, it’s amazing there weren’t dozens more whistleblowers earlier. Or greed (& fear) are really just that powerful.

Amanda Seyfried is great here. She gives a really well layered performance that *almost* makes *some* of Holmes’s actions empathetic, *almost.* (She also nails her disconcerting baritone (?) voice.) There’s also a ton of solid performances from other big names.

A good amount of the comedy felt a little forced in, but the drama was so strong that it never turned me off. Just wish it was a little more consistent tonally across all episodes.
