Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Arguably the greatest anime of all time with arguably the greatest main character of all time. If you love a story with a lot of political undertones that also has fantastic fight scenes, incredible supporting cast, riveting story, and big emotional implications, you’ll love it.

A masterpiece where the villain wins and the hero also wins but in a different way

Sort of inconsistent and there’s a decent dip in quality in the first half of season 2 but this show has some of the most insane highs I’ve seen. Lelouch is remarkable and such a fascinating character
