What's the point of making this a spy thriller with characters like Sarah Lancashire, just to infect it with unrealistic and useless protagonists? I don't expect realism, but I do expect sense. This flies high with contradiction. It tries to go against the 'stereotype' but ends up looking silly. 'The Day of the Jackal' on Sky knew how to put romance at the centre of a character, this puts 'romance' at the centre of the story. You can almost taste the factory plastic taste it leaves behind. The little details and dialogue go a long way, but as soon as it hits any ounce of action, it turns into something completely different.

This was a great bingeable series! Loved how Christmas was incorporated into the show! Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw were excellent cast choices and meshed very well. Looking forward to another season 🤞🏼
