It's good, and I was very intrigued by the original that inspired the remake. However, when you have a masterpiece like Carpenter's remake out there, this will fall into obscurity.

A solid film overall. If you like The Thing and are curious what its predecessor film was like, give it a watch, but be aware horror in the 50s was much different.
