The Thing

just amazing… probably the most insanely good monster/gore effects i’ve ever seen, every single moment was captivating and it kept you double and triple guessing the meaning and motivation behind everything the characters said and did, such a good movie

The Thing

The fact I was physically repulsed by the gruesome practical effects, just tells you everything you need to know. I went into this film completely and metaphorically blind, which is 100% recommended. stared it down while clenching my little cheeks and walked out feeling both insanely grateful yet horrified to have eyesight. The oozing tension from the dialogue and plot that continually grew from beginning to end was beautiful. It's hard to make a remake of a remake when the creativity and quality in designs and other 'things' is so good it feels illegal. Also, Kurt Russell.

This was a rewatch, and it was still as good as my first ever watch. For a almost 2 hour long movie, it felt really fast. The character interactions as they grow more skeptical of each other is amazing. And, of course, the practical effects in this film are what make it so good.
