The Color Purple

This movie blew me away. Just as great if not better than Spielberg’s original film. This movie deserves some awards attention. It’s one of the best films of 2023.

Will definitely be revisiting the soundtrack, and I liked the storyline/themes as well so you think I’d enjoy the movie… but every scene is dragged out wayyyy longer than it needs to be to the point that I cared abt nothing and no one the last hour

I absolutely love the music and the message of the colour purple and I think it genuinely is part of musicals heritage. However the film kinda lost me at times. Felt very over explained. Flashy and just modern even though it’s set time ago. It took away a bit from the plot. 😕

It gave me so many different feelings and it was so so beautiful. I didn’t like the ending as much though.
