The Color Purple

This movie blew me away. Just as great if not better than Spielberg’s original film. This movie deserves some awards attention. It’s one of the best films of 2023.

Will definitely be revisiting the soundtrack, and I liked the storyline/themes as well so you think I’d enjoy the movie… but every scene is dragged out wayyyy longer than it needs to be to the point that I cared abt nothing and no one the last hour

I still have tears in my eyes as I’m writing this. It is unbelievably tragic how under-appreciated this film is. I was blown away by the Celie’s story and how, despite the seemingly never-ending suffering she faced, she was a force of kindness and faith.
