The Color Purple

This movie blew me away. Just as great if not better than Spielberg’s original film. This movie deserves some awards attention. It’s one of the best films of 2023.

Will definitely be revisiting the soundtrack, and I liked the storyline/themes as well so you think I’d enjoy the movie… but every scene is dragged out wayyyy longer than it needs to be to the point that I cared abt nothing and no one the last hour

The musical rendition of the popular book and film was well done. To appreciate this version, I offer that one should be familiar with the play's version of this story first. To compare it to the 80s film alone, does the entire project a huge disservice. 💜 #Musical

Brilliant movie, so glad to see it stuck much closer to the book than the original.

Great movie. I am not emotional when watching things, but at the end I was crying like a baby. A good story of finding oneself and coming home. Some dark themes, but the acting and singing both are phenomenal
