Confusing yet captivating exploration of the human psyche

My favorite film ever! Psychologically complex and continues to keep me thinking after every rewatch. Any movie that shakes the audience to its core and leaves you thinking after is high up there for me. Cinematography and symbolism make this a standout movie for me.

understandably hailed as one of bergman’s best, an intoxicating and fantastical journey through the human psyche. the performances are perfect as is the script and captivating imagery. masterful in its approach, clearly inspiring many of my personal favorite works

Oh man, this was hard for me to understand because I thought it was leading into a romance film, but obviously not! It's our 2 leads in an isolated location descending into madness off one another, plus the music was so eerie it's perfect. I'll have to look into it later, but both actresses were fantastic, and just by the tone of the film, it'll be interesting when I view more of Ingmar Bergman.
