I watched this after attending the Renaissance World Tour… what a fucking film. It really shows you how far drag and the ballroom scene has come, where it started, the journey, the hardships, and how the battle is still going on. Absolute excellence.

such a beautiful documentary depicting queer life in the 1980s, especially transgender life. it’s beautiful seeing the communities created in the harshness of the world and the families that became. it’s a heart wrenching film, but such a beautiful story.

An excellent documentary that perfectly captures a subculture with care and consideration.
