Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin

Very bad and disappointing. I don’t like it and I don’t understand it. Terrible “found footage” movie, was very scripted. Dale was hilarious. Margot was awful to watch, very unlikeable. This was trying too hard. Marketing this as a Paranormal Activity movie was the wrong choice.

Good movie but not at all related or even similar in tone to the rest of the Paranormal Activity franchise. I feel like it would have been much better received if released on its own rather than try to tie into the PA franchise.

Idk if I was too high but this movie scared the fuck out of me

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin takes the series in a fresh direction with a creepy new setting and intense scares. I loved how the isolated Amish community added a unique and unsettling atmosphere that kept me hooked until the end.

I feel like it’s not awful but it’s not great. I could be good if they expand apon it and it didn’t really capture what the earlier paranormal activity movies did. I get that they were probably going for something different and that’s alright. But this felt a little too far off. Now needless to say, they can spin this into something new and better over time. This one just didn’t hit as well for me though. It looks good and there were definitely a few good scenes in there for sure. But I can’t say it’s better then the others though. It’s worth a watch but I probably won’t watch it again. 5.5/10
