8.4 - I feel like this is only going to hit for a niche audience, but when that audience finds it, it is going to *hit.* Elite atmosphere & Irish folk horror vibes, very well executed jump scares, a lingering feeling of dread, a surprise amount of humor, & a pretty solid twist. The pace is *really* slow, but when it gets going in the back half, it goes hard. My biggest issue is every single one of the kills happens offscreen, only ever leaving us with the grizzly aftermath. But otherwise this is an easy streaming recommendation when it hits Shudder.

First Longlegs and now this wooden mfer 😭

This horror film truly gave me some scares, and I love the spine tingling atmospheric tension. It’s a slow build but it’s clever, especially how the murder mystery aspect unfolds. The ending wasn’t my favorite, but I think many will find joy in it.
