Never Let Me Go

the whole “what makes us human” trope/ justification of humanity in dystopian media is pretty cliche, but this movie does a beautiful job with its interpretation. what i think makes this movie so interesting, is that rather having kathy & tommy combat their demise, they end up 1)

if you read the book, you will probably get a little bit annoyed that some bits doesn’t fit and is different and the actors isn’t how you imagine them in the book. I also feel like it’s all a little bit rushed together to.

I think you get a better experience if you read the book before watching the movie. still a good story.

Amazing concept that will rip your heart out.

What an absolutely wonderful adaptation of an original, powerful examination of life and love. The three leads are phenomenal and the result is worthy of the Kazuo Ishiguro-written source material. Also, shoutout to Rachel Portman and her excellent score, because the music elevates this film to another level entirely.

this broke me. i cannot stop crying. the book was good on its own, but this is one of those rare cases where i think the movie and book complement each other in a way that enhances the story in both mediums. everything felt so intimate and human and it was just wonderful ❤️‍🩹
