Charlize Theron is unrecognizable and pulls you in. She definitely deserved the Oscar for this one. Christina Ricci was an amazing supporting actress. The subject matter is very dark because it follows the true story of serial killer, Aileen Wuornos; But you can’t look away.

I have so much to say about this movie, but I don’t have the words to express it all. Aileen was overall failed her entire life. Getting raped since she was 13? Having her baby boy at age 15? Beat by her father for being raped for years by his friend? Horrific, and I’m disgusted. Now, there’s currently a trend on Tik Tok circulating of people saying “they say ‘your body, my choice’” and then they compare themselves to Aileen. For one, it’s disgusting comparing yourselves to a woman who was raped since age 13. For two, she was clearly mentally unstable and had severe severe PTSD. Do I think she should’ve killed men? No. Do I think she deserved death row? Also no. Do I think “Selby” deserved death row too since Aileen got it? Yes. Aileen loved her so much, and Selby took advantage of her. Took advantage of her kindness, her poor mental health, all because she was disgustingly selfish and wanted a better life for herself. This movie is amazing, and I recommend it to anyone though. I also recommend the book called “Dear Dawn”. It’s a book composed of letters Aileen wrote to her friend Dawn, and letters Dawn wrote back while Aileen was in prison on death row. Dawn published the book with permission from Aileen. (I am not putting a spoiler alert on this because it deserves to be read) 10/10 🤍
