A fun recreation of action b-movies: It really hits most of the marks from the on the nose dialogue to the familiar story. It doesn’t take itself seriously either which helps making it entertaining.

This is over the top stupid. I would say this is the “John Wick” of this era, but I don’t want to insult John Wick. This movie is directed in the same story and cinematography template that the parody movies use to make fun of action movies like this.

Machete is an over-the-top action flick packed with gore, dark humor, and a badass performance by Danny Trejo. It doesn’t take itself seriously, embracing its grindhouse roots with absurd action and wild characters. Fun, violent, and unapologetically insane.
