The skeleton used in film was a real human skeleton and was credited as himself at the end.
Castle’s gimmick was “Emergo,” a fake skeleton that flew over the audience in theaters.
Cassandra Peterson once said on Larry King Live (1985) that this was her favorite horror film.

This is actually really funny and I don’t think it’s accidental. It’s witty with some nice eek moments (Mrs. Slydell) but overall, great character studies and a deliciously arrogant lead who gets a satisfying conclusion.
