This movie suffers from “white savior complex.” What seems to be a story about a bigoted neighbor learning to accept his Asian family neighbors comes across more as a justification to paint bigotry as something to just brush off.

Great movie really deserves a reratch in a few weeks ngl 9/10

very solid exploration of loneliness and man’s ability to change - touching father figure story with very flushed out themes of racism and gang violence

Was expecting a lot worse but I really enjoyed it
