i liked it; i personally thought the effects were great for a 1984 movie. i haven't seen the new one—didn't even know there was one—but i feel like i'd definitely prefer this one a lot more.

Not a bad adaptation. Loved Drew Barrymore. The pacing of the movie honestly was the biggest issue and sometimes things jumped around too much. 6.5/10
