As someone who just exited childhood, this movie was too real. So much so that it made me feel a visceral level of cringe. It made those heart warming or sad scenes, hit even harder too. Most “coming of age” movies are out of touch, but this one actually felt like being 13

Eighth Grade

This movie was uncomfortable, honest, and the thing I loved most about it was the universality it had. It gave a glimpse inside the digital generation and it was such a rare movie that I think speaks to any age. Bo Burnham did an amazing job writing this story.

It’s a cute movie, about what it really feels like being 13 after growing up online. The scene with the dad in the backyard was the best. Very cringey overall but also really sweet

Second hand embarrassment but still related to her.

Honestly to me there is no second hand embarrassment and it’s just an accurate movie to how eighth grade can be to most teenagers. People saying they couldn’t get through it just don’t understand.
