Dìdi (弟弟)

what a powerful & beautiful film. it transmits growing up in the 00’s so well. the diversity of friend groups, and trying to be someone you aren’t. it’s really well written, although i did want more, was not expecting the ending at all. the cinematography is phenomenal, the cast, the editing, the sound design, & god i loved didi’s mom so much. i’m gonna txt my mom i love her rn bc of it. it’s a bitter sweet film, but it’s definitely a must watch. 8.5 / 10

Chris’s characterization is perfectly written and acted. There is something ANYBODY can identify with in him. Whether it’s the social anxiety, the middle school madness, or trying to assimilate into pop culture. There is no clear goal or endgame to the plot but I think that fits with theme.

I love this. Top 10 of 2024.
