Beach Rats
i think at times the aimlessness of this movie really really paints the narrative so well while at others i felt kinda lost but i guess that’s the point. really pretty and just a really painful look into being closeted

i liked this which is surprising. if you know me yk that top 10 worst sights to see for me is a man’s BARE ASS. scary boots. not seeing a man washing his ass is also up there. but this was still good

This film is a painful reminder of how hard it can be to come to terms with sexuality in an environment where it is sparse or not as widely accepted. As I was watching the film, I felt very thankful to have come out sooner than later. I deeply empathized with Frankie as I saw many parts of my pre-coming out self in him as well as post-coming out self. Coming out isn’t an easy process at all, there is still so much to do thereafter, but it does get better as you grow and mature and grow comfortable with your true self. I hope that anyone is struggling with accepting their true self knows that they’ll always be loved and accepted and that they shouldn’t have to hide who they truly are to appease others!! Live your truth cause it is yours and no one knows you as you know yourself.
