I was so disappointed with this…
You know, it’s a very used genre but it’s always interesting to see what would happen is pace with aliens, so I was excited for this.
Somehow, even though I didn’t like the movie, it passed so quickly… I thought the ending scene was the 3/4 of the movie and we were about to see something bigger and badder but no…
The movie is missing so much substance, there’s nothing to it, just the idea of it, and a bad script, it’s missing the whole pulp of the film.
Cinematography was great… but not fit for a film, certain parts look like a commercial (if you see it, I think you know what I’m talking about) and others look like they would fit great in a music video… not a film, none of it is realistic.
Who the fuck though the rainbow lights were a good idea?? Very cool to see, wrong film, wrong choice, give us red emergency lights.
Now to the production design. I think it looked great, the interiors were minimal and realistic, although seen over and over again (there is a reason) it works.
Aaron Paul, I love you man, you can do so much better, they just put you there to put face for the movie, totally wasting your presence and talent, makes me very sad, and you know what, it worked, I came to see you cause I haven’t seen you in a while.
CGI: I get it, it’s expensive and we’re trying to be cheap, but cheap can be masked, this is just lousy work, you want some advice? When a ship is landing, don’t make it to be like there are no particles flying around, it’s weird, put the particles in, and mask the fact that it’s bad cgi, literally big productions do it and get away with it…
Lastly, I was so goddamn disappointed, I came off of a hype train after watching alien Romulus and wanted more. I learned that more is not always good.
If you haven’t watched Alien Romulus, watch that instead of this, you’ll thank me later

a kaleidoscopic mashup of what feels like a few diff genres/movies .. although there’s some good stuff happening visually, it all feels a little gratuitous .. the score is haunting at times to aid some of it, and eiza and aaron are good but just felt sorta aimless idk

Fort Solis live action. Has a distinct visual style and cool practical body horror, but unfortunately goes for the most predictable sci-fi plot ever. Makes sense that Blomkamp produced, as his short Zygote is very similar yet still better. Hurry up and just do Dead Space.
