All Quiet on the Western Front

Where this film succeeds the most is in its portrayal of the horrors war. I feel that not all of the diversions from the original are for the better, especially the inclusion of the generals and diplomats, but it stays true to the original message of the film and book. 8.5/10

Some of the best cinematography you’ll see this year. It was Interesting seeing the German perspective of the First World War. It really shows you the psychological horrors of war. This will likely be nominated for an academy award. Must see !

A remarkable war film. I haven't seen the older ones, nor have I read the book yet, so I don't know if it could have done better. But what I saw satisfied me even more: The brutality of war through the eyes of the Germans! The unsuspecting soldiers who, full of patriotism, honor, and illusions of heroism, go to the front for people hundreds of miles away from the pain and atrocities they cause, just to understand what war is and hope that they will survive to return home.
